Thanks for the photos and write up, GLR.

I’m working on mine, now. One of my wires is broken where it passes through the roof grommet. Anyone know how to remove it? Is it also stuck to the glass with sticky tape?

So I have a water leak from the rearmost interior light. 2016 MY D4.
After reading and searching, shark fin looks a likely candidate...
Got a 5 point torx bit, screws undo, but rear cover is still held tight. Frightened to pull too hard in case I break something. Should it just lift off? It does come up when the screws are loose.
Screws tighten up again so I guess the inserts are good.
TIA for any help here, damp mark on the luggage cover is getting on my nerves....

On my ‘11, the plastic housing is stuck to the roof glass with double-sided tape. I was able to pry it straight up after warming with a heat gun. It’s the grommet where the wires pass through the roof that I’m unsure about. I don’t want to cause a leak where I don’t have one *knock on wood*

I’ll need to fit the new wire , the one that that appears to go through the the big black rubber bung , is this glued or just a press fit ?.

I've no idea about the wiring grommet. The wire to my HD radio is broken, but I didn't want to pry the grommet to take a look. I'm guessing I'd also need to drop the headliner. It sounded like more trouble that it's worth. If you're more adventurous than I and figure it out, please let us know Smile ‘98 DI
