Agreed. Always found them both to be totally random. Nothing worse than watching the wipers drag dust and grit across a dry screen when rain hasn't fallen in days. On a plus side I discovery my head light washers did actually work just before Moneypit & I parted company

Touch wood I’ve found the auto wipers reasonable and better than other cars.
Maybe it depends if you have the sensor fitted correctly or a good sensor

Well, what do you know... fuse 18 pulled, and I have intermittent wipers! Can't believe it took me until now to find out about this, and I was considering having the CCF reflashed and all sorts of faffing about when all it took was 30 seconds to pull a fuse!
Thanks to those who informed me of this earlier in this thread .

Actually looking in the unlimited CCF settings there is an option to turn headlights on when raining. Dunno if it works.
Also rain sensor sensitivity. Mine is on level 1
