Bough the AliExpress side box (as a pair). Took a good while to arrive (seller miscalculated the shipping cost so it got rejected at the airport) but comms were good and it was well packaged.
Turns out they are actually only meant for the offside with a ladder on the near side so had to drill a couple of new holes in the near side one to get it to line up.
They are well made and sturdy, stainless fixings included (although no instructions!)
One thing I did though- the bottom brackets are supplied with double sided sticky on them to stick to the glass but I wasn’t convinced by them, so I removed the sticky pads and used Sikaflex to bond them on.
There’s a stay to keep them open and a net inside to hold smaller/loose stuff.
The locks are ‘ok’, little bit of a firm push needed to get them to close.
One side has my winching/towing strops etc in and the other side is first aid/trauma kit.
You lose a little bit of rear visibility but not massive amounts. Not noticed any extra wind noise although I have also got a rack fitted now.

Well I was asked to remove one for a client. Lets just say both us and client was not impressed how it was fitted. Also client was not impressed with the LR ladder in use.
This is what we found on taking the ladder off.

Powerfuluk did a much neater job of cutting the hole in the plastic trim. That looks like just another dealer bodge job but then should we expect anything less from LR Main dealers these days 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

I’d be straight back down to the dealer with that. Looks like the work experience kid fitted it…
