Custom spare wheel roof bars
Hi All,
New member here so thought I’d share a little project I undertook yesterday. I’ve got a double air bed set up in the back for my trip away and wanted to get my spare wheel on the roof.
Looking at the price of the oem roof bars and how high they sit I decided to make some out of unistrut, some channel washers and a few m8 nuts and bolts. I managed to source the uni strut from someone in the trade so the total cost of this build was around £25 for the wheel strap.
Having now completed it I can say that it’s absolutely solid. I don’t really go above 65 mph and have had no whistles coming from the roof 😂
Hope this maybe inspires someone else to have a go.
Cheers
Kris
