Remap recommendations in the South.
Can anyone recommend someone in the South to remap my D3 Commercial and code out the EGR valves? The EGR valves were removed and coded out by a previous owner but I would like that checked and I also want a bit more low-end grunt for towing.

Do you have your own GAP IID ? If so, Bell Auto Services can map them out over the internet via the IID If not, a few tuning places can do it but choose a good one like an agent of BAS. Call them and ask: https://bellautoservices.co.uk/
You can buy a blanking kit from a few places (eBay) and its a simple DIY job under the bonnet.Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Hi,
I would be amazed if yours isn’t remapped already as the EGR’s are coded out….The 2 usually go hand in hand.
I have used many tuning houses, but locally please try Paul Williams.
Just contact him and have a chat… he has done an old transit of mine and a friends Volvo..he’s very thorough.

I do have a GAP IID tool. I didn't realise that BAS could add a map to my tool, I thought they just sold new tools with the map/EGR patch. I might have a chat with them.
The EGRs are already blanked.

If it has been remapped, then they have made a crap job of it.
Just looked at Paul's website and it seems like his work is bespoke, which looks promising. I will get in touch with him.
Thanks.
He uses files from worldwide tuners Viezu. They are very well known and respected. The maps they produce are very stable and safe. He is a file supplier, but there is no shame in that. The product is good and most importantly his work is very thorough….. he had to remove the ECU and apply the file on my kitchen table in front of me. He was very thorough in opening the ECU, and importantly resealing it.
The bonus is that he is local and his service/ response times are second to none.
Whichever way you go… please report back with the results and opinions of the remap you choose. It will make for a good thread for those who may follow.A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

since 2011 we (i have a company) use maps from Martyn Lewis owner of https://vantuner.co.uk/
for our company vans AND the company D3 TDV6
as said we use his services for quite a few years on different diesels, all with very satisfying results
after consulting Martin for the Landy D3 I bought a KESS v2
(if searching well, they can be bought for 80 ish quid)
who makes it possible to READ maps from a lot of brands, certainly Land rover and UPLOAD/WRITE maps
from/into you ECU..
first: i keep my own original map, some were on a own device
second: i do not need to "go somewere" for a remap
third: Martin is very expericienced on diesels
forth: NOT expensive
fifth: easy going, if i want a change in behavior a "new"map, @ no extra cost normally
sixt: he is quick
seventh:special pricing for returning customers.
eigt: etc. etc..
i am now on a a second map on the D3 from him with in theory
All i know: it is quick! No smoke, normal daily fuel consumption, but on long continiuing distances i get a very good mileage, better than on the standard mapping..
if you include the Kess V2 master (a cheap one) + Martin’s maps he is a still more affordable than a lot of other quote's i had/have seen.. and it is sooo easy to do it yourself..
(tip: keep the battery on a charger)
normally i am not a fan of cheap solutions and we started with a far more expensive unit years ago, since that one is obsolete now and this is working very good also AND more importantly: the very satisfying experiences with them go back for 12 years now (otherwise no connection)
