Hello to everybody!
I bought my D3 S in 2009, as the last new D3 in Romania. It was a great choice!
I still own it and I do not want to sell it. Because I am 14 years older now, , I need to change the seats. I did not find them suitable for long trips from the beginning but I lived with it. Now I want to address this issue.
Should I fix HSE seats on my D3 S ? Would this make the long rides more comfortable for my back and would not make me tired so much?
Thank you very much!
Every reply is much appreciated!
Cristian

What seats do you currently have ? Cloth? Cloth heated? Leather ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

You could always fit leather seats from an HSE, you'd retain the heated function but may need to add additional wiring to make the electric adjustment work (check under the seat to see if you have unused connectors as you may be able to get the electric to work very easily ... potentially possible with some issues if you don't have the wiring)
Alternatively you could fit RRS sports seats in the front which offer more support and are a simple exchange (again wiring changes if you want the electric to work) or keep your manual seat frames and add the RRS seats to those... and then add leather Disco seats in the rear (big job to add RRS seats in the rear!) it really depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you have I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Thank you very much for your time and attention!
I did not know that I could fit the RRS seats on the frame of the LR3 seats but I definitely have to to do something, to give it a try.
You are very wright about the wiring, was my dilemma too but I was going to pay attention to it later, after I find the suitable seats change.
Thank you again.

If you can't find them locally then there are a few good places in the UK who may ship abroad, Gentlemen of Salvage or Kent 4x4 breakers to name two... others out there, or you could always ask on the forum if anyone is dismantling a car for parts... I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I looked for Marnoch ...
It is where you hang the UK's map on a nail...
I saw there is a Marnoch whisky! Super cool.
wish you only the best!

Probably best to check the wiring first before you do anything as if the connectors are there for the electric seats (they may be in an S as it was a late year) then it expands your potential choice of seats... I had manual heated seats in my D4 commercial and swapped them for electric heated HSE seats with the arm rest... much nicer
Good luck in your search and just remember... if there's no photos then it didn't happen I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Also worth thinking about the D4 Seat options as D4 seats will fit in a D3 and can often be purchased for really good prices - I bought a full D4 interior including door cards for £400 with heated electric leather seats that looked like new! A Right Hand Drive interior will also not have much wear on the passenger side seat and will not need Memory module if used on a Left Hand Drive vehicle
Wiring needs a couple of pins swapping around, and as you don't have memory modules to worry about you can do a search on the site as there is a trick to allow the passenger seat to function with only manual electric adjustment. Must stop buying shiny toys....
