My first modification

Thanks to this forum I have just completed my first modifiaction on my car - I disabled the Censored alarm sounder so it now used the main horn instead Mr. Green. Given I have no mechanical knowledge this is a big day for me Thumbs Up

Last night we had three cars on our street broken into and nobody heard any of the alarms (all fairly new cars). If the Censored come back again and fancy a pop at mine the whole village will now know. Thumbs Up

ok, I'm confused Confused

If you disabled the alarm horn, how will the village know when your D3 gets broken into?

Does it shoot them with both barrels of a shotgun or something? Shocked

Poor choice of words, should be disabling the alarm sounder so it uses the horn instead, take a look here

Now that is something I could do with Thumbs Up Should be fitted as standard.

Although I would be very tempted to set it off just for the fun; so it could burn the Prius and cats from next door Whistle Whistle

I can't see the photo's in the link, is it me or are they missing. A load of cars got broken into last weekend where we live as well. The police caught the guy hiding in the boot of a car fortunately. The next day they were driving around with him in the back so he could point out which cars he had broken into.

Still can't read it for some reason.

They didn't touch my car, fortunately we have gates across the drive and if anybody gets within 200M of the house at night our dog barks. Thumbs Up

Thanks got it now Thumbs Up , will modify mine when I get back home. I only heard the alarm for the first time the other day and even though I was standing next to it, I still wasn't sure if it was the car making the noise it was so quiet.

Indicators work - just done my new one.

Easier to use a socket and extension and remove the two bolts holding the sounder down. Then remove the wire harness. You choose if you want to replace the sounder. I have, so I don't loose it Embarassed

MMMMMMMMMM Idea Idea Idea Idea Idea Idea

What if you wired that plug to a pre-recorded sound device, and
will give a warning of your choice.

Say, "THIS IS THE POLICE..... FREEZE" ( the perp will more than likely head for the hills)
pause in recording then "BANG,BANG,BANG" etc , as if they let rip with a machine gun.
Sure to get some attention Shocked
