Dear lr1
Disco mania is a disease with hardly no cure. See some of us who keep upgrading and smiling
while putting more into these machines. Big Cry

Lucky it looks like you are cured.

P.s. What alteranative do you propose for our testosterone ?! the stock market ...

Read my tag line lr1, my first D3 had compressor issues and a front diff problem, my second has been absolutely perfect. My parents too bought an early car it had 2 compressors go and a ball joint, no problems since.

So I would say my honesty is 100%, how thorough is your reading? You needn't have gone back 3 years, the answer was right there all the time Wink BTW the other car did around 26K miles

Strange that Confused looking on porsche968uk.co.uk forum folks have problems with 944's and I don't doubt that there's faults with the other cars you mentioned if you look at owners forums.

I previously owned a 1989 200tdi Disco and in the 8 years of abusing it, on road and off, I only had the injector pump and a head gasket go (apart from service items), so I wouldn't claim that this was unreasonable for a 19 year old motor that had covered 197000 miles Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

BTW AutoExpress Premier SUV winner 2008, guess....... yep again Land Rover Discovery Thumbs Up So if D3's are that bad I'd hate to own a Chayanne, X5, M Class, Grand Vitara, Cherokee, etc.. cause they must be extra Censored

I'm confused - what has reliability got to do with this fault? Confused It seems that fitting a wrong part caused the issue Question

Unnecessary quote removed

Have LR really built a go-anywhere vehicle that can develop major chassis and engine management malfunctions by the fitment of a tail bulb that isn't a genuine LR one?

LR have devolped a go anywhere car, and provided spares for it. How are they supposed to cover every eventuality of possible spare part produced or to be produced? Granted, the symptoms are severe for the apparent cause, but is that LR's fault? They sell a lamp that will work with no trouble.

BTW, not having a dig about replacing the lamp with a cheaper alternative, I'd have done the same Laughing Not a Halfrauds one, though Whistle

71% of the 146 replies JD had from generally digruntled owners no doubt Wink

We could go round in circles to be honest ...you will either fall into the I'm racked off category or the I'm very happy category. I think it's reasonably fair to say that some pre2006MY motors were dogged with niggling problems ...it's also fair to say that 2007MY on has been more or less fault free.

Show me the model of a motor that doen't go wrong from time to time Whistle
