Darind, good shout....I'll give them a call and check it talks to the car etc etc.
Decisions decisions.... would still feel more comfortable paying £50 for it to be done properly though!
Best way to get it done properly is to do it yourself
Give it a go, you might just enjoy it.

Neil
If you have a go at it and it seems too much like hard work you could always take it off again, there's nothing you will harm, as long as you take your time, and act cautiously - just dont loose any of the bits and there will always be a local stealer to fall back on, or try TFC (10 for cash) he's a great guy, he may be down in your part of the world at some point and would do it for the appropriate fee.
Must stop buying shiny toys....

Cheers Glynne......now you have really confused me!!!.
Your first ebay link is one cable, the others are multi cables for a 'Tiwn Set'
Oh gawd I only want to carrier some bikes!!!!
Does this mean I only need a single kit, ie the top link you posted?

BTW what type of bike carrier do you have- as mine has a euro connecto on the electrics which needs a converter on it to fit the UK style cable kits, so make sure you get the right cable set for the job, or you'll need an adaptor - check with Nick what part you need. Must stop buying shiny toys....

I would say if its for a bike rack, I would just plug & play.
I fitted my twin electrics and didn't go to the dealers and they all worked well.

The software activation only needs to happen if you are either going to tow a trailer or caravan, on a vehicle with air suspension, or if you have rear park sensors. Must stop buying shiny toys....

The HSE has parking sensors on the rear but I cant see me ever towing a trailer....just the bike rack.
So the single cable option would suffice?.
Blimey, its taken a fair few twists this thread hasnt it!!!!....
