I did that with the front end of a GM........... removed the battery to access ,fiddled with the wires , couldn't see
anything wrong with the fil. Tested with a ohm meter ....... but put a spare in anyway.
Reassembled the whole lot only to find I was working on the high, not the low beam bulb.
