which pic Dunc?
Your screen, provided you dont have any optional extras should look like this on the back
Then depending on what you want to connect you use the smb connectors, so for example if you were connecting a DVD player and Freeview box, the rear of your Sat Nav would look like...
The colours relate to this screen
with Green being TV/DVD, Brown Companion Cam and Tan Reversing Cam although obviously you could connect your Freeview/TV to the Brown Companion Cam slot etc as long as you remember which one to select on the screen.
As for any other leads hanging out the back....I wouldn't go near them!

hmm perhaps one too many wines tonight.....
I assume this was the pic you ment Dunc?
I'd suggest that if they're connected when you take it apart then make sure they're connected when it goes back!
bed time I think....

If you set the sat nav (location ) then go into the video inputs on the screen , the sat nav will still interup whatever your watching , giving you voice guidence .
Pressing the hard left hand button (under the screen ) will jump back to the sat nav pictureG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks for clearing that up Wiggs, I just (wrongly) assumed that whichever input you'd selected would be the one you'd hear the audio for cancelling out the Nav voice
Do you know the size off hand of the connectors/size of heat shrink needed?

I'd like to do something similar, but I don't understand how you got the audio and video signal into the stereo and screen. I know you said you used an ipod adapter, but do you have details on the fitting of that and what about the video into the touch screen?
I need to get my head round some of this!
Stu,
just realised I didn't answer your q, although the video bit has been done on this thread the ipod adapter kit came out last year and was discussed here:
it's pretty easy to fit and really just is a slightly more complicated version of the Aux input, it has an Ipod connection cable that allows control of tracks and playlists but also it has a USB input port for memory sticks with mp3's on etc and also has a stereo input facility in the form of two rca connectors. The audio from the DVB tuner goes into these and the video goes into one of the connectors on the back of the nav display connectors, which can be displayed usng the inbuild diagnostics utility.and theeeeennn......???
