Checking discs, hubs, drums (rear and caravan) and tyres at all opportunities gives you an early warning of any trouble (caliper problem, shoe drag, low inflation pressure).
You have to allow for the effects of sunshine on one side of the vehicle - differential can be 10°C but the same down the whole side - but a difference of more than +2 to +5°C on a brake part or tyre means you slow down and monitor it for a while...2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

same as disco-mikey, had the same identical issue, epb shoes over adjusted on one side, when you take the wheel off, gently tap the drum with a rubber mallet, you'll hear the shoes disintergrating if they havent already
before that you'll notice the exterior of the drum is discoloured, redish brown which will also confirm the brake shoes
Garage have just reported it's the caliper.
Typically, none in stock at the dealers.
But at least LR have them in stock.
So it's ready tomorrow
