Load Rating Question
As the standard tyres have a 112 load rating, do you have to stick to that or higher or would a 110 rated tyre be within an acceptable limit?2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

110 is to low a load rating Andy.
It would need to be 111 or anything above.
If you run with 110 and have a bump, it'll invalidate your warranty.

Thanks, was also looking at Cooper ST's in 245/70/17, rated too low though, they do a 119 rated tyre but it's £50 more per corner.
Still can't decide on what to fit
Put off the 265/70/17's by stories of rubbing, they do an AT2 in a 255/70/17 which could fit the bill though.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

When you asked Spiderbaby on your other thread what tyres he was running, I don't think he came back to you.
It's the BFG's and they don't rub on your model.
I know, cos I bought them of Ken and they rubbed on the newer m.y. Stormtrooper.
But I fitted them to mine specifically to check rubbing before I sold them onto SB.
So earlier D3's are ok.
Here in Oz, my 2005 D3 has a min tyre rating of 109 which is 1030kg, using the cooopers tyre chart 112 gives 1120kg, I am surprised at the loading change for different markets.

Andy unless you are driving a 07+ model then these will only rub if you are in normal height and are caning it through uneven ground (once in my own personal experience) , are in access mode and doing similar.I dont travel above 80-85 mph max with these MT's as a rule.Offroad height , no problems whatsover. This is what I found and BarryG similarly.

CFB, as has been said already, an Oz spec D3 can run minimum 109, but UK spec states 111. Its more a marketing/supplier thing than actual weight, as the D4 with 20's will use a 255/50x20 109 (or so I'm told), and I wouldnt have thought it weighed much different to a D3
