Good luck to any BMW purchase.
I walked out of the dealers without even a test drive because of the way I was treated.
My brothers boss had a BMW that was more in the workshop than out! Otherwise just take a look at X5 and Toureg forums to see that they are the same as ours!

it's only been a couple of days and several hundred kms but I'm very happy. the D3 was twice as much as my house so it's the biggest investment I'll ever make

Richard(Jim)B, ditto for us when my wife wanted to test drive a BMW 318.
First off the sales person assumed that I was the buyer and when we explained it same person still focussed attention on me as if I needed to know the finer technical details. We walked out unhappy that in these modern times the showroom staff still had that sort of attitude. Now my wife couldn't be happier with the Alfa 156 (customer service or the product) SHE bought.
It might be part of some obscure briefing handed down by archaic BMW sales trainers for it to happen on both sides of the globe!

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)
