Hi,
Some of you know I'm a bit impatient, so whilst at Maplin this after I could resist buying this and having a play.
Sticks like hell to the car window and bonnett, not bad for £7.95 for a trial!.
So, I've got a couple of small movies from my Sony Digicam. Finalised the disc and put it into the DVD player in the laptop.
I am trying to open it up in window movie maker that I used for the recent photo montages - however, its showing as Video TS & VTS files. I have two small movies on the disc.
Any idea how to open these into Movie Maker or do I need to convert them?
Cheers

Hi Neil,
the prob is that the camera is recording in mpeg or comparable format, which is not meant for editing. It's a dvd format hence the video_TS folder. For editing you would need a .avi file.
There are some programs that can 'import' dvd's, I know for sure Pinnacle Studio 11 or 12 can and I suppose Adobe Premiere also does this. These packages are meant for video editing. Windows Movie Maker surely cannot import.
VLC player is able to play the stuff but it doesn't convert. You could try super which will do only the conversion. I'm not sure it will decode mpeg but if anything can, this tool does it

What the feck is a Gimbal???.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The software I brought was 'Free Dub Video' and 'AVS video Converter'
I transfer the DVD format to either Mpeg, AVI etc and then edit with Dub Video - then stuffed into Windows Movie Maker.
Bit long winded but works, I'd like to get the video vality better as it goes a bit walter when you change it.

Neil bought a gimbal and doesn't know what it is! Neil bought a gimbal and doesn't know what it is!
Sorry, got Hotelitis. It's bought on by the realisation that I've spent more than 6 months in the same god-forsaken hotel and have chosen to obliterate that knowledge with quite a lot of germanic laughing water, imbibed far to quickly for my own good. Absolutely - I've been looking for a cheapo sucker mount to stick this (since I modified it) on the bonnet (or roof or wing) with
