Hi disco3kenny,
Down here in Essex it is regularly reported in the local paper that the Essex Police frequently nick drivers with heavy tinting to the windsceen and front side windows. I believe to be legal the glass must allow 60% of the available light through (thats from memory, I may be wrong ) They even had or have a piece of kit that could measure the light through the glass at the roadside. It is a pity that they are not as enthusiastic as this when catching burglars and purse snatchers. Thumbs Up Rolling Eyes

IIRC factory standard glass is 38% legal limit 40% I'll check with Ben at Midland tinting if anyone is that bothered . . .

Dark fornt, Looks cool, but it's a personal decision - I wouldn't do it on mine

I think the below should answer your questions in relation to tinted windows.

Offences can be dealt with by police or VOSA who also have authority for static road checks.
