Changing cruise and stereo controls.
I have managed to purchase a new set of cruise and stereo controls in the hope that it solves the problem of my intermitent cruise control.
Can anyone advise me where I can find some instructions on how to change the buttons over?
Cheers

If you have the tool to remove the airbag securing clips then really easy just remove the steeing wheel(16mm bolt) in the center,if you do suceed in removal be carefull when replacing the airbag(make sure the wiring is secured correctly or srs fault will be caused)
The reason the cruise control switches are so probmatic is that they are not really switches but resistors on a switch(way to complicated to explain but pm me if you want)
You do not need to remove the steering wheel to change the switches - do a search on retro fitting cruise control and audio where you will find all the instructions you will need including how to make the tool to remove the airbag module.
Its an easy job just take your time and if you are a bit jumpy by nature disconnect the battery so as to prevent you keep pressing the horn and believing you are about to get a face full of airbag at any minute
f you need any more help PM me

Thanks for the advice, read various threads on the site all very helpful.
I was unsure about having a go myself but thought apart from setting the airbag off what have I got to lose.
Fashioned the airbag removal tool from a metal coat hanger and after disconnecting the battery and leaving the car for 10 mins or so had a go.
The result is new switches fitted, now just hoping they solve the intermitent cruise control and that I dont need the clock spring.
Again thanks for the advice!

So far it seems to have done, TLO did a check for me with my registration and chassis number and informed me that the clock spring upgrade had previously been carried out.
It therefore seemed logical to try the buttons, since changing them last Friday they have worked every time I have tried them and havent totally cancelled when I have braked or dropped the clutch. I am hoping it has solved the problem.
I can also honestly say the instructions on the site on how to remove the airbag were very heplful, including the fashioning of the removal tool from an old metal coat hanger!
