This was found on the floor beneath the right rear tyre after putting the TDV6 on a garage ramp to remove the tyres for balancing. Pipe is 330mm along the straight and 40mm on the elbows, OD 10mm, has a slight diesel smell and only marking is “EPDMâ€on elbow. Looks like a fuel overflow pipe but have no idea where it goes or how to fit it or even if it belongs to the LR.

Did it look like this:
Its the over flow tube for the diesel. If you look just below the filler cap, you see a small drain hole and this tube takes any overflow. Mine fell out two years ago and because its a b d to refit apparently I just left it. I dont think its doing any harm....I hope! A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

I'm going to guess that the fuel spill tube makes the difference between the spill going straight to ground, or dripping over the tyre/brakes... Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

I've found one of them on the floor under my car too, after washing it.

Yep, Tanters thats exactly what I found. Strangely my local LR dealer could not identify it. Am i correct in understanding that there is no risk in not refitting it.

gerhardt, yes there is a risk, to add on to what stapldm has said, there
is an exhaust pipe there too I would get it re-fitted from a
safety point of view. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Well I'd hate to give you the wrong advise G but I haven't refitted mine and no issues to date after a long time. Perhaps one issue would be enough though if it involved fuel
You could ask your dealer to refit at your next service - keep cost down. I think the reason it comes out so easily on people is because its not clamped to the drain tube, very loosely fitted so get them to put a clamp on it so it stays put.
Of course if you like a challenge you could have a go yourself A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
