Does anyone else have this issue.....
My system keeps losing the TMC signal - seeing as it only come from ClassicFM i don't understand why!
It also takes up to half a hour to find the signal in the first place and if i try to force it to search for the station, to searches for about a second and then comes back with "station not found"
I don't have any issues with my BMW system in the other car, it finds the signal almost immediately - and never loses it.

The same issue for D3. TMC signal is only transmitted on Classic FM. Takes about 4 minutes to find it on D3 when it gets lost. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've found it's a lot better on the D4 than on the D3, but like you say for some reason not as good as the BMW TMC receivers.
The D3 used to take ages to search all frequencies, but I think the D4 system just checks the known range for each station so is a LOT quicker. Either that or the search is broken on the D4
I traveled in areas where I didn't have TMC on the D3 and it had TMC in the D4. However it did lose it once, but found it again within a couple of minutes. It's a pity it doesn't use DAB and then fall back to analogue.

I have a same problem on my D3. most of the time it seems to be other radio stations transmitting the TMC signall with no data, so not a D3 problem, more about the broadcasters, but - SWMBO's D3 seems far less susceptable to it and will only occasionaly dive off to radio local looking for TMC. annoying!!!!

ah.... glad its not just me
i didnt have any issue with my D3 - i agree it took ages to search the station, but at least it found one.
i have NEVER found a station in the D4 - there is no way it is searching - it comes back in about 1 second.
i have another issue with it:
last weekend they shut the m1 so i detoured up the a1 - do you think the stupid thing would reroute.....NO, just spent a good hour trying to put me back on the m1.
if i had my BM sat nav, the car would almost be perfect!

Have to say TMC is c**p on the LR and spot on in the Toyota (in fact it is probably too sensitive in the Toyota) - tbh have given up on it as it is only a weekend thing. Craig

I have heard of the wiring to the reciever/ariel for the TMC coming adrift on Sports and RR's. May be worth getting it checked.

Had the same thing in my 2006 Sport V8. Why does it only use Classic FM for TMC?
And why when travelling from Edinburgh to York does the GPS direct me through Darlington town centre rather than the bypass?
