Just buy one of Muppetlabs batteries off of him, then connect them up, Unless you drain the 'feck out of the batteries, should be fine for up to 150Amp ISTR (std + Muppetlabs = 82 +68 = 150!)
Job done!
Oh and you'll need some 25mm cable and some battery terminals and the Aux Battery clamp and some cable ties.
All of the above can be sourced from e-bay and we'll look forward to your next 25 pages of posts about contemplating the fitting process...... Bodsys Brake Bible

So in your effort to make a cut price system, you've been looking at buying one of the most expensive/complex split charging systems in existence?
I still can't help thinking that you just need to change your main battery and all will be good 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

it's winter and batteries just love this time of year 'NOT'. Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Get a new battery, but get the TDV8 RRS sport one that fits in the D3. It has a far greater cranking amperage than the standard D3 one - so I think is bound to be better at starting on cold days in case you have to run the starter for longer. I think the CCA is the cold cranking amperage and the maximum amperage it will maintain when starting from cold for 30 seconds... orsummatlikethat? Anyway, it's the same price, and higher rated, so it can't be a bad thing.
Edit: 950 Amps on the TDV8 battery vs 825 on the D3
