True. I doubt it. Would of been better if they'd shown the other hand or the fact that it was the biometric starting the car rather than the other out of sight hand.

We tried finger print readers on our epos system, for staff to log-in/log-out and they are crap.

Biometrics generally work well if you are referencing either a small database ie 10 users (multiple fingers stored) or if you are using it to verify an identity i.e. swipe card and then biometric i.e a bit like username and password.

We have been considering using them for kids to login and out of our education centres, but with 10,000 members it takes way too long to process all the info.

One of the projects I have been on took me to AFITC a few years ago (Air Force IT Conference) [American] to see and learn new technologies in use; and the then selling finger print scanning was having a big display; amazingly when you start to talk to the tech'ies and not sales staff they give a different picture to HOW good this stuff really is. All I can say is while it maybe a good idea I hope they have now improved the odd higher than 40% Shocked
 No matter how bad you are,you are not totally useless...you can always be used as a bad example
