You need a webasto timer 1533 to fire the unit on a timer. You can then add to this and fire it remotely by fob or even gsm.
A PDF of a sample install can be found HERE or in the wiki.

AFAIK the Devon kit is just the timer and fitting kit but no RF remote or GSM unit.
Is that right? Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done
Discovery HSE MY16 (good apart from the heating), now sold
Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)

I bought the timer from fleabay - £70 INC P +P + plug, wire and bits from maplins £9.00, Time spent fitting (novice) 1 hour. Result = nice warm car when I want it, plenty cheapness !

Matty, going down the same route here...
Any chance you have the list of parts you got from Maplins to hand? Being a novice too, it would help as I understand there's different specs on wires, crimps etc...
Where did you fit the timer?
Cheers

Biz,
I took a description of the bits (from the 'how to' guide on the sticky) into Maplins and the helpful salesman sorted it out. He was unsure about the 4 core signal wire, so i just got 4 meters of standard stuff, it has all worked fine. If I can find the receipt I will Pm you the product numbers etc. I mounted mine on the courtesy light.

Cheers Matty, most helpful
Where did you end up fitting the timer? Am thinking of the roof where I think LR fit the "official" upgrade anyway, on the light/sunroof switch/microphone cluster...

I fitted the 1533 timer (off fleabay £60) to a maplins 2 ch RC switch (29.99) which comes in a nice little black box that the timer just fits on top of, and the whole unit just fits nicely at the side of the battery then the cover goes over and you can't see a thing, remote works 20-30m away and a little LED located in the bottom of my NS headlamp conected to the spare output on the timer tells me when its on nice and toastie on the cold mornings. I would go for the GSM if it was cheaper but £139 is a bit excessive. Harribo

Harribo ,
That's where mine is going to live next to the battery
When the car wakes up , ie unlocking , this will then shut the FBH off
