Hi Russell

My D4 didnt come with a target either. I was going to pop up to the local dealers, but if you have a copy any chance you could email me one. how does it attach ?

the copy the dealer gave me is a poor photo copy so will not scan very well. If you PM me an address I will colour photo copy at work this afternoon and send the stuff I got from the dealer to you.

Sorry it does not tell you how to attach it, so I intend to photo copy a few and then try plastisising a copy and sticking it to the front with blue tack. Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

if not I, think i am OK. I got hold of a scanned version. it was a bit poor quality but good enough to creat a ppt from.

just need to work out how the target works ?

I got some instructions with the one LR gave me, I will send it all anyway, might be useful. I have not tried it yet, weather always been bad when I get the caravan from side of house. However, we are off to France soon and I hope to have a play before we go away, will let you know how I get on. When you going to try it? Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

I might reverse it in and out of the drive this weekend

I put the target on the front of the caravan yesterday and reversed upto it. the TA says to ensure the "target" is in the red coloured box, which I did, and set up the width, axles etc, but simply hooked up it was no differeent to when I didnt have the sticker. I'll need to try actually reversing it to see if anything happens.

Q - how does it know which way I want to go when I am reversing. what is to say that it thinks i want to go left when i really want to go right, and i end up in the driveway wall

Duncan according to the info I have, the target should go in the red/orange area, when the target is in the correct position the area changes from red/orange to green. Did yours do that? Tow bar, roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit.

no it didnt.

the target was in the orange area. there is a kind of double orange area, one inside the other.

however, just relealised that i didnt have the electriocs connected so that may have something to do with it !! Duncan

would anyone be interested in some "stickers" if I were get them made up.

I cant imagine them costing more than a a couple of quid.

they can then be stuck directly onto the trailer, just like the disco3.co.uk / disco4.com stickers do ? Duncan

Yes, they would fit permanently or until you unpealed them - just like the d3 stikers. I will see if they do that sticky stuff that can peal off and be reused, but it might come off in the wind/rain. Duncan

I have the genuine PDF if anyone wants it e-mailed; or someone with more knowledge than me can embede it in the post.

The LR experience boys put them in a rear number plate, seems to work well.

It has to be parallel to the vehicle and in line with the rear camera; so on some trailers like horseboxes you will need to make a frame to hold the target square.

You need to set up the trailer type in your menu (no of axles, and hitch to piviot axle centre length), then once all connected you will need to drive a distance to allow the system to learn the trailer. From memory the lines will change colour to green when all is learnt, can't remeber if backwards and forwards or only 1 direction is needed.

You can store a number of different tailer specs in your set up.
