Thanks!
Having had the car for just under a week, these are my first impressions:
Likes
• Strong performance, both off the line and through the gears.
• Comfort.
• Quiet cruising and refinement when dealing with lumps and bumps in town.
• Handling. It’s actually quite chuckable, and will grip gamely. Roll when cornering is well contained.
• Visibility from the high seating position. The rear camera really helps too.
• Standard equipment level is not bad but we got tick box happy with the option list.
• Luxury feel in the cabin. It looks good and there are plenty of soft touch plastic surfaces.
Neutral
• It’s a physically big car and will take up all of the width of a small narrow country lane. In car parks, I’ve also dropped the suspension to get under the indicated height limits.
• Real world economy is a little below that advertised. Over 500 miles of mixed driving, the trip computer is showing 29mpg average. At the end of the day it’s a 2.6 tonne car…
• The boot is massive and I can’t reach stuff when it’s right behind the seats. I will need to buy an umbrella with a hook handle to fish stuff out!
Dislikes
• Over servoed brakes. Stopping power is actually good, but there’s no feel from the pedal so it’s difficult to get the pedal pressure just so. The last bit of braking will get it snatching and therefore jolting just as it comes to a stop.
• The tow bar socket has already ejected its plastic insert somewhere…
• There’s more bare wiring and exposed electrical connectors under the bodywork than I expected. My German cars have all of this stuff thickly wrapped in tape.
• High levels of brake dust from both front and rear pads.

Ah, one option you missed then: the sliding loadspace floor.

Can the sliding floor be retrofitted? However being the cheapskate, my natural inclination is to stick with the umbrella option!
Glad to hear that the dust is just due to the brakes settling down.

Hi Sutton,
Car looks stunning, first time I have seen Marmaris. Any chance of some more pics, maybe at a distance to see the colour in different lights? Really nice to see something different to the blacks and silvers (nothing against black or silver of course - don't want to start that debate again!)
Thanks

Aha, another XS owner. Have you located the 3rd cupholder in the first row (part of the convenience pack). Sorry, it's my life's mission at the moment!
Colour looks fab - I've not seen one in that before. I do like the D4 in the darker colours (mine's Bournville) as you get a great contrast with the silver grill, etc.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind comments. Teal is a bit of a marmite colour, but you can guess which camp I fall into! Marmaris is quite different to the previous Lugano, the latter being a fair bit darker. I like the Bournville too.
I'll take a few more photos this weekend. The colour does change according to the quality of the light that hits it. The dealer said it's the only Marmaris car he's sold and put it on the ramp in front of the dealership for a few days before we picked it up.
I haven't found the third cup holder yet but can always ask the dog to open wide!

Sutton, have you or anyone else managed to get any more Marmaris pics? We've got to order another D4, thinking of Marmaris but haven't been able to see one. Thanks

To get to things at the front of the loadspace, just open a back door and tilt the rear of the back seat forward. BTW your golf umbrella will sit nicely on top off the fixed part of the loadspace cover.

Yes, I've had to resort to opening the door and releasing the seats, when said umbrella had slid to the front! Thanks for the umbrella storage tip
Been a bit remiss with posting photos - apologies Slots.

Can't do the tilting seats thing if you've got the cargo barrier! I made the mistake the other day of putting a couple of bags of shopping loose in the boot. A spirited drive later, and I had onions and potatoes everywhere! Had to climb inside the boot to get them all out....

A couple of empty plastic crates, like you can buy from B&Q, up against the seats/load barrier will keep things in reach and stop shopping rolling about. You may find them useful as you start to accumulate tools, folding shovel, tow rope, sandbags, first aid kit, blankets, emergency rations, etc - and that's just for the M20!
