Hi everyone! I'm Alessio from north Italy.
I'm about to buy a D3, next week I'll drive it and if everything will be fine I'll be onboard!
The beast is a TDV6 SE in great conditions and have a right service history. By the way I'll have a service, thinking about a gearbox (manual) oil change and planning infotainment upgrade with a Pioneer unit.
I'm aware of oil pump weakness and had a look at the Extra19_5 heavy duty unit...someone here have it; does it worth the 450€ ? It's 3 times the OEM spare...does this engine run in oil starvation with original one?
Years ago I've had this engine on a Peugeot 407 coupè and never had problems-
Before I had a Nissan Navara, a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2,7 Quadradrive and last 4X4 was a Pajero 3.2DiD 3 doors.
Can't wait to back on a real man car!
I have a feeling one of our Italian members has bought the Extra19_5 pump ? (Sidestick ? I may be wrong, has been known. )
maybe they will give feedback..
Dean

Hi all thanks for letting me join - I’ve owned various discoveries over the years
Most recent is D4 - 2010 model had it coming up 4 years 193k miles - and loved every minute of it - alas it’s time to sell as I’m getting a new Landrover next March with the job - so can’t keep two - wallet not big enough -
Is it possible to advertise it here first with a list of everything I’ve done and previous owners etc
It wants for nothing and drives faultless and full service history etc
I can put it all up plus pictures - is there a section to add it or does it go straight in here as a post ?
Cheers in advance all Darcy

Hello everyone!
My name is Miquel, from Barcelona, Spain.
After many years with a Disco2, I'm deciding to change upwards to D3/D4 for a more fun and versatile use of my 4wd... no doubt disco3.co.uk is a must to learn a lot and help me to take the right decision.
Thanks for sharing so much information!!
Regards,Wishing future landing on D3/D4... from current D2!

Hello,
New today, from London. I’ve had my D3 since March, looking for tips & tricks to keep her looking and performing smart, anyway I can.
Not sure which silver she is? I didn’t realise there were so many shades out there! Thanks Emma.

Hi everyone
My names Paul, I bought my 2006 SE Discovery 3 in June. Since then its had :-
New torque converter
New Autobox
balancer exhaust pipe
front and rear wishbones
2 alternators
New Battery.
Through all of this I have relied on this forum for help and advice so I thought I would join (I'm not much for joining things - I prefer lurking) and say thank you.
So, thank you.
Its now having a new LP fuel pump (thank you Robbie), fuel filter and centre propshaft bearing.
I look forward to spending a lot of time here.

Hi there
I've just bought a disco 3 after 11 year driving a defender 90. Obviously no comparison apart from they both have a green oval badge.
Mine is a 2007 HSE. I drove it home last night mostly on motorway and it was a dream to drive. I expected it to be thirsty but its the car of my dreams so ill not mention the mpg to my wife...
I'm just finding my way around it so hopefully I'll get some help from you seasoned experts.
Cheers
Kevin

Hi, I've just joined the forum but have had my Discovery3 HSE auto for years. It has full service history and has been maintained by BG Landrovers who I would also recommend. I smile when I hear people talking about how unreliable these vehicles are. Mine's covered 287,000 miles and I'm really hoping I see 300. As a vehicle, I love it; so versatile solid and safe. Grateful for forums like this where such a wealth of advice and experience is so readily available. Keep rolling. Fran

Welcome all,
You'll find a wealth of information and dis-information, opinions and facts (and sometimes even humour) in here, just shout out if you need help and someone much cleverer than I will be along to help
You don't have to be mad to be on here....I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
