| New D4....13 September...counting the days |
|
After much faffing about over new vs nearly new, colours and specs I have ordered a new D4 XS in stornoway grey with almond and arabica. Rear view camera, grand black lacquer, ipod lead added. Now I have made all the decisions I can't wait... can anyone suggest ways of passing the time until the car arrives in a diverting D4 related way.
Also, was I mad to buy the XS rather than put in another £7k for the HSE? Is it true that you can 'activate' some HSE features on an XS?

Just been informed that my new car is 'in transit' and expected to arrive in Elgin tomorrow
Silly I know, but getting a bit anxious now in case I don't like it as much as my D3 which has been the best car I've ever had. I'll have to get used to a better engine, a pedal less, satnav and leather to name but a few. How will I cope?
All will be revealed by this time next week, with a bit of luck.

Good for you. Mine arrived Tuesday and I pick it up Friday. That is if my insurance docs arrive in time. Although Dealer says they issue tax discs now so dont need to get it to them in advance. Just on the day.
This week is going slowly!!

Apparently the law has changed and faxed or scanned copies of insurance certs are now acceptable for road tax purposes, if true should make life a bit easier and save a day for posting an original.
Hopefully they can also still tax a new car for slightly more than 12 months as they did with my last one, 3 years ago which was taxed for 12 months and 2 weeks when I picked it up mid month

Dexter, I know how you're feeling. My D4 is due to be built this Friday, and with me a week or two later, so looking forward to it, but not wanting to say bye bye to the D3, which has been really great. 700 miles to do this weekend, which will probably be my last long journey in it.
Anyway, onwards and upwards!
Enjoy the D4, and post some pics when you get it.

Pick up D4 / drop off D3 ( ) arranged for this Saturday morning
We're taking the tintent with D3 up to our favourite site on the Moray coast on Friday night, short hop along to Elgin on Saturday and come home on Sunday evening with the D4. Watch those curtains twitching
Excitement is building

What are the chances that they "forget" to fit the tow pack to the D4 before handing it over to you.....

Yup I did consider that 'slight' possibility PaulP, I have confirmation that all is fitted as required and that it is indeed the twin electric set up to suit my current tintent. If the towball is missing I'll just keep my old one
