| Surround Camera Cable Routing Problem |
|
I have been having problems with two of my surround cameras. The rear was not working at all after being intermittent for some weeks and the front right has been showing blue screen now and then.
Car went to stealers today and they have dealt with it. They say there is a service bulletin regarding poor cable routing in manufacture resulting in co-ax cables failing.
All working now though and so hitching up the tintent on Wednesday will be a piece of p**s again  2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

Great news........NOT!

I am having same problem. It worked fine at the dealer but they recognized the service bulletin and ordered a pair of cables. Well that was like a month ago and I am still wait for the call from them... but that's another story.
I am afraid that cable may not fix the issue. I noticed that sometimes camera comes back on after restarting the engine. That's not cable issue to me.  TJ

Mine is going in this Friday for service and to sort this out again. Mine is very intermittent on the rear camera, the front right flashes blue screen when the surround cameras are first turned on, but then mostly settles down. My feeling is that the front camera is not cable related but the rear could conceivably be.
More news at the weekend.....but I really need this fixed as I hitch up a lot of trailers on my own and ordered the surround cameras with trailer assist because of this. 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

Join the club. My front two went out completely and my rear is intermittant, but normally out. The only ones that work all the time are the two sides.

Car in Friday and I got a call from the service reception to say they had carried out the TSB and it still didnt work. Whoa!! says I, you did the TSB a month ago and it didnt fix it so what made you think that it would fix it now. Service receptionist says "well we have to go through the LR proceedures".
I say "yes well you already did that"
Conversation went round and round til I got cross and asked to speak to someone that new anything at all about cars. Got the workshop super visor and he said that the recetionist had made it all up and they were ordering a fibre optic cable on VOR.
So 5 weeks on and still no camera, still no fix for the cruise control set speed display or my misfire at motorway speeds.

Car has been back two the dealers twice more now, they replaced a co-ax cable and that didn't sort it. Then they VOR ordered a camera and fitted that but it's still the same. I really had hoped to have the hitch assist working as I am Italy towing on my own and hitching up is a real bind...........
I really thought that things would be better with a Discovery this time around, at least my EPB works though  2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE
