I had a fire in the wiring of my 1971 ford falcon. The power wire to the ferris radio had fallen onto the under dash handbrake lever.
Scared the **** out of me. Had to grab the wire and pull it out. Have a nice day!

I had a meltdown some years in a Chrysler Avenger Tiger going over a cattle grid into the Lion enclosure at Bewdley Safari Park. I just bought the car the day before. The numpty took the radio out and left the live wire exposed. Going over the grid caused the wire to move and earth, alas no fuse. The car filled up with smoke. The choice was:- burn to death in the car or risk the lions get out and disconnect the battery. Needless to say I survived. The girlfriend at the time, fought well and managed to get the positive terminal disconnected before the lions mauled her arm off. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Andrew - Got to say it....You shouldnt have taken a Tiger into the Lion enclosure.
