Are you sure about this Paul???
I've seen a few D4's and RRS with LED 'fairy lights' on during the day when the other lights are all off, like on the Audi's and some new Merc's I'm pretty sure these are classed as DRL's.

They probably just had their sidelights manually switched on as it looks cool 
On the Audis, Mercs and Opels with LED strips, they are really DRLs - they are both designed and approved as DRLs. In the case of the D4, I'm sure this isn't the case. Update , I have been corrected. the Fairy lights are called signature lights and are different to DR lights. They only come on The HSE according to my stealer.
