it cant be the caravan floor.it can only be the bit of floor in the front locker that the the gas bottle holding brackets(like frapps)screw into.your bottles then fit into them and are held in by 2 flexible brackets that are fitted to the bulkhead.it may be that there is a small gap at the back where the floor meets the bulkhead.it cant be the bulkhead moving as its an integral part of the whole front part of the van.which fits on to the chassis. my daughter had an older swift where the front floor had delaminated,it was held up by big metal brackets,i removed the old floor used it as a template and refitted a peice of 18mm wbp ply,but there was a gap of about 2-3mm gap at the bottom so i sealed it with gripfill.there is no way the d3 can be blamed or faulted.we are away at present,i just looked in my front locker(bailey senator indiana 2007)the base of the locker is plastic and screwed to the base of the bulkhead.

its more likely the build quality of the swift. Both my previous Conqueror and my current Abbey Spectrum (both make by Swift Leisure (along with two Swifts owned by my best mate) have "dubious" build quality. Like others have said, its nothing to do with the D3.

Someone is pulling your plonker. Swift caravans are delivered on commercial vehicles (Burstwick) and they have standard tow hitches. I was at MIRA a couple of weeks ago for the annual tow car event, and I had a look at the trucks when they collected the caravans. Everything standard. As someone else has said, the Dixon-Bate thing was several years ago, and in those days the transporters were fitted with them. Fully ballasted twin axle Conquerors/Elite 'vans have been towed with lots of vehicles at the events, including D3's in the past and for the last couple of years D4's, and we've never had a problem, despite the "thorough testing" the cars and 'vans are given. As Swift are a major sponsor of the event, I'd have thought that if they thought that certain vehicles would cause a problem with their products, they wouldn't entertain being involved.

The only way 'excessive up and down movement' of the suspension could occur whilst driving is if the shocks are knackered!!!
They're talking mate - the D3 doesn't raise or lower in height as you drive (unlike older Range Rovers), it simply maintains the current ride height ...Regards,
Mick

You'll all be pleased to here that the caravan dealer has admitted defeat and said that the van is at fault, not the car.
Thanks everyone for all your comments as they were very helpful.
Kids, Mrs, and dog all happy now and we're off on holiday!

Are you likely to release the details of which caravan dealer it was? I wonder how many people they have mugged off with this excuse, who haven't come on here and got the real answers to fight them with?
