We have a friend with a 2011 D4 and had an Bluefin upgrade and it didn't work, we also have a friend with a 2010 2.7l D4 that has a Bluefin upgrade and his works well, it has taken the turbo lag away and has also made it pull better right through the power range, so has the D4 ECU changed from 2010 to the 2011 model.

Come on Pete, someone has to make something that works on the 2011 D4.

Their is nothing available for the 3.0l as yet OBD due to the security in the ecu, The 2.7L is only a CAN change of which ive provided information of tomany tuning tool providers but they have still not updated the software to match it. The 2.7lecu is the same as the old2.7and the only changes seen at the moment are the CAN.

We can do both ecu types here but upto now i dont have a remote type option.

Maybe Bluefin haven't updated their software for the ne CANBUS on the MY11?
3.0L map is offered by some but it is a bench map.

I have done a few D4 3.0 remaps here in SA and the results are very satisfying.

Apart from being able to feel the turbo now with the resultant snappy response, the fuel economy increase is very good.

Remap, if it is as good as you all say, why don't LR fit it?
Cheers

This takes me back to the same discussion in 2006 regarding D3 remaps Smile

The easy answer is they have no control over what fuel you will use, where you will drive the car and what you will use it for, hence they set the vehicle up with the safest set of parameters for all possible eventualities. Which means it is a compromise.

Basically all manufacturers tune their vehicles to give the best economy figures for the official economy cycles (city and highway) these cycles bear no relationship to real world driving. Those writing the maps give the best results they can for most real peoples driving or specialist ones for pwer or performance.
The OEM map is designed top work with all quality of fuels and CT ratings.

This means you require my ECU from the car to do it right??

I'm still not a lot wiser after all that ? Confused

Is there any differences for the 2012 ECU regarding remaps ?

There are a few out there advertising remaps for D4's but I take it that is just a remap of the existing ECU and would need to be wiped before taking to a LR dealer for any warranty work ? Are they reliable for the 3.0ltr ?

I take it nobody has a 3.0 SDV6 remap that can be removed and put back on again for dealer visits etc ?

Some have two ECUs; one mapped and one for dealer visits.

Anyone got the BAS 285BHP ECU and care to post feedback & MPG ?

Re the spare ECU, when cloning it could the clone date be stored online and uploaded easily to regional "ringer" ECU that people could buy in to ?
