And how much would this rare beast be up for?
With all the TDV6 related issues I've had I reckon it would be cheaper to run a V8 in the long run! A dog is truly man's best friend, Don't believe me? Well lock your wife and your dog in the boot of your car and 2 hours later open it and see who's happy to see you

MPG is a bit on the low side, but I figured that when moving to a V8. Not quite had it for two months and I'm close to 14 MPG average. I'm sure my heavy foot is only making matters worse, but it's loads of fun and hard not to get on it. There have been times when the on board computer registers about 20-24 MPG, but that's for long runs on the freeway. Once I get back on the city streets, back down it comes. Good thing gas is relatively cheap here in the states as compared to the UK.
Here's a screenshot of an app I use on my iPhone to track fuel & service expenses, it tells the whole ugly story.

@ BBS SPY...To be honest when I loaded the picture up, I said that it looked photo-shopped, I took it with an iPhone 4 with the HDR on, it really looked to good to be taken by a phone! As for the 6 lines, I realised that it was 8 sections after I'd typed it...nice lad
Any way, no biggy, no need to apologise as no offence taken, so thank you
As for the fuel consumption...here's a thought....
We towed the Ibex to a challenge event in the D3 V8 (now for sale), a friend towed his challenge truck with his D3 TDV6, the overall MPG for the both was the same (same journey, route etc) Therefore it was cheaper to run the V8 as petrol is cheaper than diesel
Another advantage as J@mes pointed out, there is no 'body off' scares with the V8.
That's why we had to have a V8, it was going to be a RRS, but we just were so lucky to find this.
Alex is loving the whole D4 thing, say's it's just 'another level' opposed to the D3.

Well I'm going to pop in when I'm over in Staffs ...
.... just for a look and to treat my ears to that wonderful burble.
Just think, that's nearly TWICE the cc's of a D3
shhh, don't tell Greeni - If I can, I'll try to get away in it and leave my D4 behind.
It's white too, so surely he won't notice If I could think of anything intelligent, poignant or witty, I'd put it here !!!

Congrats for finding and getting that rare beast.
It seems the only european country where it'a available is France... maybe for LPGing or because many armour plating specialists are based there.
Now, enjoy it!

Mine is doing 18.14 mpg over the last 60.000 kms.
To make you guys even more jealous; the mpg during summer holidays was about this figure too, with 5 people, loads of luggage AND 1650 kg caravan on the hook. I suppose the increased volume of the fuel causes this.
