Klaus, could you let me know, please, the LR part number of the 3 pipes for the valves and the part number of the antenna that you use? Also where you install the antenna? THanks.

I have to admit to being a little confused. Am I correct in assuming:

Fuel Burning Heater: Is provided on all Discos and is there to help get all the temperatures up to working levels as soon as possible

Timed Climate Control: Is where the car has the ability to use the FBH to warm the interior and is programmed through the control screen on the dashboard

Park Heater: Is where the Climate Control facility can be activated remotely and instantly.

OK, assuming I am correct, and I am not sure that I am, could someone please answer:

1) Can the Timed Climate Control be switched on immediately or does the timer need to be set, i.e. there is a waiting time before the heater starts. If it can be set to start immediately, how is this done?

2) I have a MY2012, HSE with the Timed Climate Control. What do I need to get/do to add the remote control (Park Heater).

This has been bugging me for months so clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

@pdes: The FBH is installed in all Diesel Discoverys in "cold" countries. For example, there is no FBH in Australian Discoverys.

Park Heater = Any option to run the FBH without running the engine. E.g. by Button, Timer, Remote, Mobile, ...

If you order the Park Heater from Land Rover the water flow is different for heating up the interior faster.

You can switch on the Park Heater via a button. But only when the ignition is off and the car decides if its cold enough to start the FBH heater. Above 15° Celsius only the fans were switched on.

Adding a Remote Control is a easy job. But you need a Faultmate MSV-2 to enable the Remote in the Cars Configuration.

Best regards
Klaus

Further to all the above...when I switch the engine (ignition) off the FBH keeps on going for several minutes. Is this normal/correct?

@ChasD: The FBH has to cool down. This needs some time.

Thanks Klaus. A couple more questions if I may.

Where is the "button" to turn on the heater?

For remote working, does this mean that there is a receiver in place and I would only need to buy the remote "pip"?

Would this work without the piping? The timed heater seems to make a good job of heating the car.

@pdes: Its on the main menu and on the config screen if enabled.

You need to install a receiver and a antenna. Or connect the additional receiver to an already installed antenna amplifier. Not sure if that is always possible. And a additional antenna is cheaper and saves a lot of installation time. The wiring for the receiver is already present in your car.

There is no need to have both. You just can enable the Touchscreen option.

Or you can use a GSM Remote (with iPhone App for the guys who need that) instead of the Wireless Remote.

Best regards

Sorry for being thick Embarassed but:

How would I install and extra antenna?
I used the timed heater this morning and it seemed to heat the car just fine. Do I need the piping?
Does anyone have the part numbers (and cost) for the receiver and remote?
Is this a DIY installation or do I need someone with a Faultmate (and more confidence than me!!)
I still don't see a button on the screen that will instantly start the Timed Climate Control - more advice would be appreciated.

Thanks again Bow down
