I have noticed that on odd occasions some members have referred to puddle lights fitted in their door mirrors. Was/is this an option as I don't seem to have them, or is this another occasion when LR only fit them to export models?

I might be wrong but I think that the puddle lights are only fitted to the door mirrors if you have the surround camera system.

Puddle lights on the D4 are part of the Bright pack, as far as I know, they are certainly very useful indeed! 59 D4 XS (2.7 TDV6 6 speed Manual) Commercial (UK spec) with extras such as Premium Navigation.

Thanks guys, it was the ones that fit under the mirror I was interested in as a certain someone stepped into a deep puddle and ruined her shoes. As I don't have the surround camera system it looks as if I will have to keep forking out for new shoes!!
Regards
Ken
ps it's a D4 HSE

Surely the ones on the door bottoms are just as useful for avoiding such puddles? 59 D4 XS (2.7 TDV6 6 speed Manual) Commercial (UK spec) with extras such as Premium Navigation.

APL not really, it is about when you are returning to car, push remote and car unlocks, mirrors fold out and lights come on so you can see puddles as you approach. MY12 D4 HSE
MY11 D4 HSE
D3 S spec
Tow bar, full length roof bars, side steps, tow bar storage unit, surround camers.

Ah yes, that does sound like a good idea! Hasn't been available over here until recently. I believe the HSE here is supposed to be identical to the UK spec apart from having the TDV6 engine..... so I will look out for them! 59 D4 XS (2.7 TDV6 6 speed Manual) Commercial (UK spec) with extras such as Premium Navigation.

I retro fitted the puddle lights in my D3 door cards all the wiring was there just needed to cut the holes out (very carefully) and hunt around for the wires. Even in the driver and passenge footwells. Also you can replace the standard bulds with LEDs Ooooh V bright! People should not be afraid of their governments. The picture below should give you an idea of how much they will light up - not a brilliant photo though as it looks brighter than in the photo
This picture shows the underneath of my drivers side mirror, the light is on the right hand side of the camera.
