I hear what your saying about houses, they are a lot dearer to run than disco's that's for sure. We're decorating and carpeting our hall and living room at the moment, that's 2k down the pipe straight away! Just got to try to make sure I leave some spare money for the purchase of the disco, got to get the priorities in order

Worth also looking at an s spec, my 2007 has a lot more kit than a gs inc cruise, puddle lamps, heated front and rear seats, fogs and upgraded hifi. only thing as far as I can see it misses is colour coded bumpers and maybe some tinting

You could argue that you need a D4 for the work. They have their uses.

Hello all,
I joined last week and am in a similar position to the OP, starting a search for a D3 (to replace my Defender which is becoming too much of an ordeal for long family trips), so found the above info useful. The choice of model and spec is bewildering to someone used to a Defender...!

I'd echo roofdown's post an S has all these options but unlikely to have leather

I've been looking for a 2007 (56) plate onwards and the only ones I have come across are GS,XS,SE and HSE models? I've only seen S models from pre 2007
