Let's all club together to get him a one-way ticket. Would be a lot cheaper than his last £35k business trip. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Buying a D3 from the states... |
|
nobbyclark wrote:So buy it and ship it back to the UK. It's second hand so won't attract any duty. Ok, it'll cost about a grand to get it here, a few quid to get registered and you'll be sitting on the wrong side. Oh, and throwing fivers out the window every time you accelerate. But apart from that...
We spend quite a bit of time in the states and I gave some serious thought to importing one before opting to buy in the UK last summer. The prices are ridiculously low over there and were low even before the recent downward movement of the dollar. The main reason I didn't do it was because the international warranty gets cut from 3 years to 1 year and knowing how quirky the D3 can be, it was just too much hassle to lose the extra warranty. I could probably have put up with the left hand drive and could have afforded to fill up a V8 petrol HSE with the money I'd saved. So, instead, I spent MORE money on a D3 V6 'S' with a 3 year warranty! Discovery 'S' Auto Lugano Teal plus PTI
