Tell my wife that!!! She was in charge of the bung when I was on the exhaust tube & vice versa, hence not getting a good enough seal.
CaverD3, cheers, will give them a ring.

I knew that!
Phoned Horobin above & they didn't think their plugs would withstand the pressure (40mm one rated to 30psi). also that the rubber is only natural rubber & would melt if in contact with a hot exhaust.
The quest continues!

DSL,
They are talking cr p .
It sounds like they don't want to take reponsability because their plug is not designed for this, if it fails or causes engine problems. The plugs look the same as mine, and mine works fine, even if t is not a complete seal it will still alow enough pressure for the jack. The exhaust tip will have cooled by the time you use it and if it is sealed no hot gases will come into contact with it. If you use a sleave of rubber its not in contact anyway. If you can hold a bung in by hand I can't see this plug failing when used in this situation.
You are using it at your own risk, get one and try it, they aren't pricey anyway. "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both- and deserve neither"
