NEW Flaps.
After continually wrecking the OEM mud flaps (ozi spec style) when using the disco for what it was designed for:
I decided to cut off the lower half and replace it with a sheet of insertion rubber. (petrol D3s should use neoprene) I used pop rivets with Stainless washers and black coloured caulk.
Not the prettiest job but it was over slightly stuffed existing ones:
We'll see how it goes on the next outing, expect a report. "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both- and deserve neither"

Your flaps are BIG
I think they are for the Oz spec only, did you tried the euro spec flaps?
For me I don't have any problem with the rear flaps, only the front ones are wrecking when making some serious off-roading.

Australia Require them as part of the ADR, due to unsealed roads there is a requirement to reduce dust. It does make a difference though. Even the smaller flaps would have got stuffed with the workout they got when rock crawling. The OEM flaps are quite stiff and also act as a plough when in sand or deep mud. Went off road last w/e, flaps survived and sustained no cracking at all. In fact the new flaps are about an inch longer and I noticed less spray reaches the back window; bonus
So far so good.
Let's see how they go with serious rock crawling. "A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both- and deserve neither"
