Hi guys,
I just picked up a 2006 LR3 HSE in buckingham blue. It's in decent shape and I can't wait to start tinkering on her! Immediately after the purchase, it dumped snow & the temperatures dropped sub-zero F. Had to visit the homes of 22 students throughout the community. 3 hours of driving on unplowed roads: she is a regular snow leopard! After driving large American trucks & SUV's, this LR3 has heart, soul, a personality combined with a can-do attitude. Very competent vehicle.
Cheers,
Brent

Hello,
Been looking around all the forum for the last 3 weeks whilst I’ve been talking to a trader for a lovely looking at 2015 HSE Lux, finally pulled the trigger last week and collected today which is a strange experience buying a car in lockdown and passing someone a huge amount of cash without seeing the car...
Picked it up this morning after a full nightshift and got to enjoy at 150mile trip home. Couldn’t be happier with it seems to be specced to the nines so really happy just need to get a tow bar.
Just wanted to say hi and will probably be searching threads and bothering people for any issues that arise.
Everyone seems really friendly!

Welcome
Knife121, is it an EU6 emmisions version? Came in for cars registered in second half of 2015. Worth finding out if you're not sure.
Plenty of information, help and support available on here. Use the search facility on the first instance
Happy motoring
Cheers Gary

No it’s April registration so don’t think it’s going to be a euro 6.
Assuming the manufacture year will be on the door where the plate is
Thank

Hi there,
I'm a long time owner of a Disco 3 and can't do without it. I have been stalking this forum for some time and thought it long overdue to join. I do most of the servicing myself and it is encouraging to read about other's experiences in looking after their cars. I'm also hoping to share some of my repair stories.
Cheers,
Spada

Hi Spada,
Well done. I also just joined after owning a D3 for 13 years and I also live in Sydney.
I would love to hear some of your Repair Stories. Is the pic of your Disco at Port Botany?
Best wishes,
Jeffoir.

Hi Jeffoir, very observant of you . Yes, I did a bit of work at the (then) new rail Terminal at Port Botany and had to drive across the yard to get to the rail office and thought it would be a great photo opportunity. My repair stories, well, there's plenty so happy share. Just let me get over the current one first . How about you? 13 years, you must have bought it new.
Cheers,
Spada

Hi All,
Just bought a non runner 2008 Disco 3.
I’m bored with my Hilux and thought I’d get my hands dirty again. Lockdown Therapy !!!
I’m not new to Landrover, built 2 Defenders previously but fancied something a bit more comfortable in my older age
Been reading up on this forum for the last few weeks to see what I’m getting myself into. And found some very useful info, thanks.

Hi, I've just bought a 2005 Discovery, complete, part dismantled but with electrical problems. I also got a very rough 06 model thrown in, so I should have enough parts to get the better one running. Still getting to grips with reassembling the dash before I put power on and find out what's wrong in the electrics. I'm in Diamond Creek, Australia and have owned series 2, 3 and Defender over the years in other parts of the world.

Hi Airmech953,
Welcome aboard. I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
Although having owned three D2s over the years since 1998, (all gone now) and the current D3 for 14 years, I have also just joined the Forum like you. There is a wealth of info here and the members are wonderful in the generosity of the sharing of their knowledge.
With your '05 D3, I think I need to warn you that if the oil pump has not been upgraded to the revised design, with the addition of a reinforcing gusset, please look into this issue before going too much further. It can fail with catastrophic results. It is a poor design.
Otherwise, a wonderful vehicle, which once you have rebuilt it, will be great fun to drive over the years ahead.
PS: I am a retired winemaker. I know David Lance who planted Diamond Valley Vineyards. Beautiful wines. I think David has retired now.

Hi everyone, I just bought a Disco 3 2006 2.7 manual. I’ve had it a week and today the parking break just stopped working.
I have heard horror stories about people getting stung for a replacement system when it was actually a mechanical issue.
Any advice please?

Welcome to the site and Disco ownership.
You will probably save money by looking at the site wiki, https://www.disco4.com/wiki/Home and searching for your symptoms on here too. By all accounts the Bodsey Brake Bible is well worth a read too.
Regards,
Steve
