Who's on holiday in Ireland? |
|
Spotted today at approx 17:15 between Arklow and Gorey on the N11 going south.
Dark coloured UK reg D3 with A-Frame, lights, expo roof rack, lights on the expo rack, and a rear ladder.
"55" reg I think.
I didn't wake up and take any notice of it till the driver waved and by then it was too late to get any more details! Couldn't see if there was a disco3 sticker on the back or not, but I'm willing to bet that there's not many people with kitted out D3s that are not a member of this site!
I was heading north towards Dublin. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

Well any plans I had for a driving holiday in beautiful Eire have just gone out the window. You lot are always driving in your sleep! I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It’s the best way to numb the pain of the reality of driving in Ireland

1500 miles from East Yorkshire to Dingle and back and not another Disco3 sticker in sight! In fact - I haven't seen one since I joined the forum in March!! I was taught to be cautious.

Depends which Friday! Been back a week, now - but was on that route on 17 August and again (in reverse) on 24th. Took over an hour to traverse Waterford!!!. Did loads of off-roading on the main roads!! I won't go into bkehoe's reference to fisherman - despite a roof rack full of rods and tackle only managed one little plaice in the whole of the week - much to SWMBO's amusement. That said - what a wonderful country and such warm and friendly people. Can't wait to return. I was taught to be cautious.

I was there 10th to 18th August, just as the rain stopped is when I left!
I was going to fish but just ended up leaving my tackle at the house due to the torrential rain.
Got to agree though, still one of the best places to go and definately the nicest people.

Fisherman
We arrived as you left and if it's any consolation the "mist" as the locals called it (i.e. sideways rain to you and I) continued until the Monday when it eventually brightened up! I think I need some help from you - despite digging worms at 0530 each morning - going to all the so-called 'hotspots' armed with an array of beachcasters and spinning rods - even spent two hours spinning for bass on what looked like a perfect storm beach - nothing apart from that titchy plaice. Even the locals said that the fishing isn't what it used to be - but, they always say that, wherever you are!! Think I'll have to revert to one of my many other hobbies!! I was taught to be cautious.
