Kill a rat/mouse in a trap and you know you've got it because you have the evidence. Put poison down and how do you know you've killed it as no evidence and what about the creatures who have developed a resistance to said poison so then we have to develop a better strain of poison. To be honest I'd rather see the barn owls, sparrow hawks, buzzards et al flying around in my garden.

When the scratching stops or theres no more signs of rats I know the poison works.
I am not as privileged as yourself to have a full bird of prey sanctuary going on in my back garden so everything's sweet
