Charging the battery the night before is perhaps the easiest and most effective way of preparing your vehicle for flashing and editing. Very few of us drive around with the battery more than 75% 'full' at the best of times.

Just plucked up the courage and went outside to do some flashing!! Shocked Shocked Did the COD but no red light. It's all a bit scary when the car comes alive again and gives you every warning under the sun on the dash. Read the manual bit first and kept it open on the pad. It's a long 3 mins (as in the manual) before you can start her. Wasn't worried about the battery as she did a long drive yesterday and battery is only a month or so old. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I was going to do a reset (didn't do it when put new battery in) but couldn't find it in the service section, pos I have to update my IID first. Also saw the step to reset the adaptive gearbox info but a little voice in my head told me that it wasn't a good idea on a worn box.

Might have to just use my ipad for all things D3 & IID related, I introduced the IID to my "new" iPhone 4s and the app crashed a couple of times reading & clearing faults. Wouldn't want that to happen reflashing or changing CCF settings. Shocked Shocked

Don't worry - once you set it off, flashing is handled fully by the IID its self. Thumbs Up

There's no way an app on a standard mobile could be relied on for such things. Thumbs Up

Didn't get a chance to sort this out this weekend.

Been on the website and registered etc, will print off the manual at work tomorrow.

One more question
Searched and read various threads on maintaining power supplies. Already have a decent battery charger but doesn't have the supply function, so was wondering if this would work just as good as the £150 plus other items?

Thoughts ?

Regards

Leigh

Leigh, I believe a lot of people on here use the Ctek ones, the one I was looking at is the mxs 5.0 £65 on Amazon. Just putting it off after the outlay on the iid!
Was all connected up earlier but chickened out as my battery was sitting a 14.1v, the other day when I was playing it was at 15.4v , engine running, but I sat for quite a while and it didn't go up Confused

MXS5.0 is only 5 amps and the versions I have seen do not have a regulated supply mode.

Well, from what it says, it'd probably do the trick but it's a case of whether you trust it to do what it says on the "tin". Wink

Thanks for the tips.

Topped the battery up before starting, all set up, no problems 8)

3 flashes set, timings on the light delay and the 4x4 screen.

Will do the suspension heights tomorrow.

Where do I find the clock on the dash file?

thanks again

Leigh

Should be on the tool already under the ECU reflash options for the IPC.
