Would like to hear from anybody using these tyre for everyday use.
Currently using standard Scorpion Zero on 19" HSE, wearing badly after only 10k.
Tyre options seem very limited for 19" rims as Grabber AT2 not available on 19". Pirelli ATR seem expensive and if they wear like Scorpions a waste of time!!
How are the MTR for around town and occassional long journey. I also want to do more off road - and I know they are good for that!
Love to hear your comments.

ATR are far superior to the normal Scorpions as far as wear is concerned and I'd say as good as AT2s off-road, or pretty damn close to it. Done 20K+ on ATR and still got 7mm all-road. There are plenty of others that'll confirm the same.
Not run MTRs myself but that's because I don't do enough regular off-road to warrant MT tread all the time and prefer the quieter AT tread - that said there are plenty of people on here that seem to run MTRs as normal daily tyres and if you're willing to put up with the slight hmmming sound they're a great tyre from what I've been told. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

With Tyres you largely get what you pay for yes scorpions wear quickly but don’t forget your in a 2.7 t motor so the penalty for safe grippy motoring is expedited wear rates than you might of experienced in less motors
MTR’s ATR’s have a harder compound hence better durability where wear rates are concerned both tyres have plus and minus points so only you can make your mind up as to which one
You have a big heavy 44k (when new) motor that demands respect don’t scrimp on tyres they are after all the only things that keep you in contact with the terra firma.

I have run on MTR's 24/7 over 35k ...bit of a hum that you quickly get used to ...fuel consumption down by 2 mpg ...but who cares  They are great off road and really look the nuts on the motor...lots of oooing and aaahhhing, pointing and staring 8) 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Your D3 is still very good off road on road biased rubber
I have two sets of wheels and do not run the MTR's all the time. I prefer the extra 2-3 mpg and silence during my everyday and occassional green laning. MTR's go on for more serious stuff. Run Michelins day to day.
S end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

MTR's every day, now covered 47k and lovin' it!
When they're new, there's a rumble you can hear gently, but that goes quieter when they're worn in a little. You should be looking for about 40k out of a set of MTR's

How are you finding the fuel consumption?
Most of our mileage is done around town so only getting 16 to 18mpg as is. On Longer journeys have reached the dissy heights of about 27mpg, so I have never seen more than about 25mpg from a tank.
Also have you had any punctures - I've lost 2 scorpions in a year?

I get about 22-23 around town & short journeys and about 26-28 on longer slow journeys without the trailer.
With the trailer, get about 25-27ish
Had one puncture, which was some very flinty areas of Lakes, just nicked the sidewall which is normally very strong.

You'll be lucky to get the Goodyear MTRs as I have been told that due to new EU regulations they have stopped manufacturing them. Loving the power of the TDV8!

There are no plans to stop producing MTR's I have just asked GoodYear In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Did you check that they are continuing the 19's? I have been told that due to new eu noise directive that they are now illegal. Perhaps check with AJS. Loving the power of the TDV8!
