Tax.
Accountant said I owed £2,500 when doing my tax return. All paid. Letter from HMRC today says I owe £16,000.

Landrover dealer using excessive sticky pads to attached rear number plate.
4 hours , 1 can of WD40 and a knackered old AA membership card later I can now attach a replacement number plate!

There is no part of me that would have a d2 over a d4
I think sometime people will happily fettle on a D1/2 etc and just expect a mondern land rover to go with no real lover or maintenance. How old is a d4 now 5years? I think i had waxoyl'd (twice) and spent loads of time on my D2 by the time it was 5yrs old, same on the 300!
I bet the D4 has barely had a service (and i dont mean one of the main dealer £600 jobbies which is more a component change rather than a service)Mike

Seems a bit of an over-reaction for a corroded brake pipe (if it even was corroded)... I'd have it checked out by a reliable local Indie and then have it re-tested... I think most of us have been through the "having to throw money at it" stage at one point or another but it will be the same with any car that's not under warranty...
If a corroded pipe is all that's wrong with it then you've done pretty well get that fixed and run it for a few more months... the smile will come back..I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

HMRC - cont'd
Well after another 30 minutes on I finally spoke to a sounding female person (can't be sure though), who deemed being able to sign into my self assessment as "too hard" and transferred me to the "technical team", another 40 minutes on hold before I finally gave up... a total of 1 hour and seven minutes on hold.
I then tried another option of using the Verify service (Four out six companies listed are no longer providing this service ) so opened another account with one of the two remaining, went through the whole process... and then entered my UTR... and then got this...
"There was a problem signing you in"
"Your sign in details have not been recognised by HM Revenue and Customs"
Back to square one... if I'm imprisoned for not filing a tax return could one of you act as a witness that I really really tried to do it ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
