Feared the worst when I didn't get replies to last couple of PMs.
I swapped PMs when he posted "prune juice" on the "what are we drinking tonight?" thread, recognising a fellow "NHS Hobbyist" ... although I will hastily point out mine's a long term thing, I just have to accept that and keep taking the tablets.
I'm sure he'd be happy I share some bits from his PMs about the forum ...

He also told me that when his hair started falling out and the consultant warned him it could grow back curly and a different colour, he was hoping it would be like Harpo Marx !
I'll miss him.

ok ... thought long and hard about sharing this but I think he would approve.
He went to the doctor early this year for something completely unrelated and the doc obviously spotted something and ran some tests. Turned out he had advanced bone and prostate cancer, but he hadn't noticed any symptoms himself.
So ... when you get those notes from your GP offering yearly "MOT"s, it's always worth taking up the offer. Catch things early and the NHS can do so much for you.

Really sorry to hear this sad news.
Never had the opportunity to meet Bruce, but I've "known him" from the early days of this forum and his posts have always been interesting reading.
I'm sure his contribution to this forum will be sadly missed.

He thought he pulled\tore a muscle in his shoulder loading his D3 ...and it progressed from there. He told me that after the prostrate diagnosis they also suspected it had gone into his bones...he was very positive about it ...sadly this disease often has other ideas.
