I had the chance to speak directly with him....especially when I advise on places to visit on my recent summer trip to Ireland, he was extremely friendly and helpful with his directions. Now I read this and I think about my last message, he was gone, and that is why I understand why he never answered me. My God, are terrible news!!
All my love for his family, all my thoughts are with them.very sad news!!
RIPlost in translation!

Very sad news.
I didn't read all of Bruce's posts as some were very long but definitely a character.

Sadden by this news, he was bit of a character and I enjoyed trying to work out what he was on about at times.
RIP Bruce
Prostate cancer is a as some people have no symptoms whatsoever till its too late, I lost a friend and colleague to it a few years ago, less than six weeks from diagnosis to his passing and he was a Urology consultant and just 51. Age increase risk and as we get on health checks are well worth the effort.==================================

Shocking news as i've just seen this.
BLF RIP. Enjoyed some of the banter and some of his PM's, always helpful and thoughtful.
Bruce Lee Farrar joined the site in 2006 and made his mark very quickly ...mostly by upsetting all of the site stalwarts of the day
This brought a little giggle when i read this.
I was wondering why it was quieter on the forum with a few members not 'seen' lately. I thought due to summer break people get away for a while.

Met him a few times, and helped with parts from England to Northern Ireland when he was back and forth.
Very sad, he was certainly a character

Such sad news, I was aware from a few PMs he wasn't well and got the feeling he was playing down the severity of the situation, but even so, still very sad.
I shall miss the long posts and it always amazed me how he had such a knowledge of so many topics.Andy

That really is sad and shocking news. He was a real character on here.
Like many, I too often got lost in Bruce's long and complex posts but he always fought for his beliefs, yet never became nasty about it.
He often mentioned his family and he must be a terrible loss to them.
RIP Bruce.
