Forgive my naive question, but need some advice.
Looking to do a bit more maintenance on my car, nothing too serious, but I need a new more socket options. Just browsing the web and there are a fair few Impact Driver sets available which include the sizes I need. I have an impact driver, so it would make sense to get a few more sockets for that, but are there issues with using the Impact Driver sockets for general use i.e. just using a breaker bar/ratchet etc?
I know the other way round is a no no, not man enough for an impact driver MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

Impact sockets tend to be thicker walled so sometimes you can struggle to get them in tight places.
Just remember he who dies with the most tools wins.

Get yourself a Halfords Trade card, even better deals When you are dead, you do not know you are dead. All of the pain is felt by others. The same thing happens when you are stupid.

There are no issues with using impact sockets on a breaker bar except the loss of a few fractions of mm as impact sockets are thicker to account for the additional stresses. PAGODA

Impact sockets are all 6 point, most socket sets are 12pt. 6pt used for exhausts etc and won't strip... like 12pt. You will absolutely definitely decide you need both types anyway so just get it out of the way now.

6 sided sockets are the way to go, they are simply better all around.
You will be surprised just how many mechs use chrome sockets on impact guns.
Impact sockets will last forever, but as they tend to be black finish they will rust easier.
As said halfords kit is okay and can be had cheaper on ebay.

Certainly for the brakes you will need 12 point sockets.
Because of that, I bought a massive Halfords Professional kit (12 points are in that set).
I paid half price, so £150, but at the moment due to Black Friday, they are £125. A bargain, they have all you will ever need, inc Torx etc.
