I have a decent espresso machine and roast my own beans. I'd always bought from hasbean where the quality is excellent but the prices started to go up significantly. I found Rave, who are local to me and much cheaper. I'm currently drinking their Colombian Suarez single origin coffee and it's excellent.
It's just under £10/kg and free delivery if you spend £25.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Have a Gaggia espresso machine and use beans ground in a Gaggia burr grinder. There are something like 44 settings for ground size. Beans are bought by the kilo and stored in old Illy cans, taped and in the freezer without loss of flavour. It's useful to change the blend every so often as palate gets a bit stale with same. I do the same with malt whiskies but that’s for other reasons Provided you descale the machine regularly and clean the portafilter and brewhead then you get great espressos. No need for a bean to cup machine. If the Gaggia stops working you can strip and repair it. Plenty of Youtube videos and spare parts available. Exploded diagrams on the inter web. Can’t do that with many machines. I’ve recently stripped ours and replaced the thermal fuses and stripped and reassembled the solenoid valve. Should appeal to LandRover owners. most modern machines are throw away when they go wrong IMHO.
Oh, just one small thing. I don’t actually make the coffee. SWMBO does that. I tell her that she is the expert and I couldn’t compare. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Opinion seems to be that storing in the freezer is not good for the beans. I haven't tried it myself but just keeping them cool and dark and away from fridges and freezers seems to be the best way to go. So that's what I do; although mine are green so generally keep better than roasted.
