So as it was a nice day, sat down and washed off the panel with soapy water
Blimey it must have been covered with a lot of previous polishers etc as it has really turned grey

Yes, it's surprising how much oils they can absorb over time.Kev

Just taken back a bit really of how much in changed colour as it dried off , took a while in keeping scrubbing it with soapy water until I could feel there was no more oils etc
I washed and cleaned out the bottom of the windscreen with the scuttle panel removed
done the bottom A pillar blank mod last year
Looking at the bonnet it looks like it will stand upright with the release of the clips
Also took some extra pics of the heater inlet in case it’s any help to anyone
Along with pics of the route the loom for the wiper motor and heated windscreen washer jets , on mine it’s just a tube so going to see how I can retrofit the wiring without disturbing that large bulkhead connector
May drill a small hole and grommet near the RH side panel that’s tucked out of the way , as it’s only 4 x wires from the fuse box up to the bonnet
Have been doing small jobs that I can manage at the moment
Thks again

Something like this for the wire , drilling a hole low down at the end of the fuse box then attach it to the existing washer jet tubing
That other bit of conduit is for dual battery set up
Plus didn’t realise the iPad a flash when taking pics

Looking good. Another job to add to your list could be a little shelter to prevent you ever getting a soggy pollen filter and wet carpets because the air inlet protrudes further out than the bottom of the windscreen (bad design).
I just cut a bit of flexible plastic from an empty 5l bottle with a stanley knife and stuck it in place with some silicone sealant I had lying around...

^^ Good shout, I did the same although I cut up a 1 litre oil bottle and bolted it up using the N/S hole on the air inlet. You only need a leek in the wrong area of the scuttle panel seal right above the intake and it's dribbling into your N/S footwell via the pollen filter before you know it, got the T-shirt.Stu

Thks, Bless u for that and a good call and indeed makes a lot of sense to do that now whilst the scuttle panel is off
I also noticed when I was cleaning the scuttle panel I put a small amount of water above the heating inlet panel, poured out the sides so going to put a small bead of silicone around the edges where it joins onto the scuttle panel underneath
Thks again for the idea

Also done a little bit of messing around with the centre panel
Just working out different ideas and little jobs like this I can sit down at the kitchen table with a cuppa
Then the other switch panel at the bottom will be next , enclosed an example pic from the site of it in situ , lights will all be in green to match the rest of the dashboard

Next job will be to find out why my spare wheel keeps going flat , it does look very pitted on the inside rim so don’t know if I’ll have to get another one or if I can carefully sand it down
Or if I have to send it away to be professionally dipped and powder coated
4.5 inch grinder with a wire cup wheel, clean off all the black bits back in the j and any loose flakes, don’t go to mad, as long as the tyre bead in good condition it will re-seal, wear safety glasses as cup wheels alway loose wire

Hi
Bless u for that , I think I’ve still got a wire wheel somewhere that I’ve never used so will be ideal
Just thought as I’m messing around with different projects to put them all in one thread instead of scattering them every where
Thks again and always appreciated for the help

Well the paint has turned up and I think I’ve dropped a clanger as it’s saying about an adhesion spray
Think I’ll have to order some as im concerned of it peeling off in the next few weeks
Thought that was the primers job of adhesion but a good lesson for me
But then it says this on the web site , am confused

You can use either an adhesion promoter or a plastic primer. You do not need to use both.
The purpose of an adhesion promoter is if you have a textured surface, you can spray it on without the need to key the surface so you retain the original texture.
As I mentioned previously, Hycote's technical department recommended me to use the adhesion promoter. But I'm sure you'll be fine using the plastic primer if you lightly key the surface prior to application.Kev

Sorry, I've just read the cans in your pictures and I see what you mean. I still think you'll be fine with the plastic primer but use of the adhesion promoter is probably a belt and braces approach.Kev
