So adding it all up think I’m just going to replace the 4 x callipers and just the V8 brakes at the front

also noticed the front disc backing plates were missing so would like to fit them at the same time and leave the rears for a later date

You know you can use the same callipers on the v8 upgrade as the only thing that changes is the disc and carrier. It just moves the calliper further out.
if you are going to change the callipers go for Disco 4. The discs are even bigger and matching callipers.

Also i have found out the hard way if you have sticking callipers it could be the flexi hose.
Mine was the back and after changing the calliper had the same issue of it sticking i found out it was the flexi hose at the back between the body and the suspension arm.
It had broken down and made its own one way valve.

a good test is go up a dual carriage way fast then park up and walk round the car and see which wheel is red hot and just do that one.

Hiya

Many thks ref the D4 brakes , do u happen to know the disc sizes are plse

Alas the calipers are sticking so that’s my reason for changing them , has all new flexes but appreciate the advise as indeed as u say could have been them

Funny enough done a test a little while back

Front offside / Disc - 29.4 c / calliper 26.9 c
Front nearside / Disc - 50.2 c / calliper 41.5 c

Rear offside / Disc 24.3 c / calliper 24.9 c / Drum 22.5 c
Rear nearside / Disc 49.3 c / calliper 45.4 c / Drum 38.5 c

The near side front and back were picked up from the mot last week

Will check out the D4 calipers and discs , once again thank u for the heads up, will fit new calipers all round and just upgrade the discs on the front for now and do the rears later
